CBAsia Workshop 2016

Avoiding meaningful and effective engagement with citizens is in fact risky for any government agencies.  Trust in government, public corporations, and developers is declining around the world.  Stakeholders increasingly expect to meaningfully and effectively engaged and they resent ineffective public consultation.

We recognize that decision-makers have many legitimate reasons to hesitate.  The new techniques for public participation and consensus building are often new and untried in Vietnam.  Public officials likewise have little experience to guide them on when and how to use collaborative processes beyond required public consultation.

This training seminar provides both the key questions decision-makers should be considering and our answers to them.  We are skilled practitioners and academics who have extensive experience with such collaborative dialogues in Southeast and East Asia.  This training is essential for decision-makers and civil society activists who seek better ways of managing potential public disputes and improving relationships with stakeholders.
