Physical Chemistry

Learning goals

The students know and understand the interaction between classical chemistry and physics.  They get knowledge about simple sensors for chemical parameters and develop a sense for energy and dynamic effects in chemical reactions. They know about the main characteristics of electrochemistry.

Course contents

Chemical bonds and intermolecular forces, properties of gases, molecular spectroscopy, Beer´s law, thermodynamics, chemical equilibriums, law of mass action, solubility product, pH value, electrochemistry,  galvanic cells, Nernst´s  law, ion-selective electrodes
