Mechanical Engineering (Major in “Engineering Design and Automation” or “Energy and Process Engineering”)

In cooperation with the Ruhr-University Bochum, GERMANY, and the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, GERMANY.

“Scientists dream about doing great things. Engineers do them.”
James A. Michener, US American author

Our daily life is in nearly every aspect influenced by mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineers contribute to the design and creation of all machines and technical devices that are currently used by mankind. Mass production of affordable and high quality goods is only possible through the application of mechanical engineering.

Being one of the oldest and broadest disciplines in engineering, mechanical engineering is a continuously evolving field that absorbs the outcomes of research in natural sciences and uses them for the improvement of existing products and the creation of new products. Mechanical engineers therefore need in-depth knowledge of physics, mathematics and materials. As information technology is nowadays to a large extent used in design, testing and production, mechanical engineers must be proficient with computers. And they must understand economics and ecology for sustainable design and production.

The VGU Bachelor Program Mechanical Engineering provides students with all the necessary state of the art skills and knowledge in the two majors “Engineering Design and Automation” and “Energy and Process Engineering”. Each of these majors opens many excellent job perspectives for the graduates in national and international companies.
