VGU Bloodrive 2014 in May

According to Vietnam Red Cross, it is estimated that more than 1.5 million blood units are needed every year in Vietnam but the blood bank annually only satisfies about 30% of the demand. On May 7th, VGU in cooperation with Binh Duong Red Cross organized “VGU Bloodrive 2014” to encourage VGU students, teachers and staffs donate their blood to save people. The VGU Blood Drive 2014 is a great example of how VGU-ers can get together and help save thousands of lives through blood donations all in one day. To make the blood drive successful, students had been distributing posters, flyers, calling their friends at dorm and staffs to recruit blood donors.

Thanks to their effort, VGU Bloodrive 2014 attracted more than 100 volunteers who gave blood at room A.005. During the blood drive, all blood donors are provided with gifts and small badges “heart of courage” for their kind contributions.

The second Blooddrive in 2014 will take place in October with the target of recruiting about 150 donors.
