VGTRC Workshop 2011
"Developing a National Standard for Road Traffic Signals in Vietnam"
With the support of the German Road and Transportation Research Association (Forschungsgesellschaft für Straßen- und Verkehrswesen - FGSV), Vietnamese experts for traffic signals have studied and modified the German Guidelines for Traffic Signals - RiLSA, edition 2010 (Richtlinien für Lichtsignalanlagen - RiLSA, Ausgabe 2010) to compile the Vietnamese Standard for Traffic Signals, which reflect the specific traffic conditions of Vietnam. This standard is going to be compiled by the Vietnamese-German Transport Research Centre (VGTRC) of the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) in collaboration with the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) and the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUD), proposed by the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, validated by the Directorate for Standard, Metrology and Quality of Vietnam, and promulgated by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam.
In order to discuss on the contents and process of establishing the Vietnamese Standard for Traffic Signals, on Thursday, 29 September 2011, VGTRC in collaboration with partners organized the workshop on “Developing a National Standard for Road Traffic Signals in Vietnam” at Sapphire hotel, Hochiminh city, Vietnam.
